British narrator?
Sent from my penis using wankertalk.
"The Western world is fucking awesome because of mostly white men" - DaveDodo007.
"Socialized medicine is just exactly as morally defensible as gassing and cooking Jews" - Seth. Yes, he really did say that..
"Seth you are a boon to this community" - Cunt.
"I am seriously thinking of going on a spree killing" - Svartalf.

The Hobbit I am listening to has but you can listen to a sample before purchase. There are several variations including full cast.

Finished the medieval whodunit. The suspects got eliminated and the detective, the pharmacist, spent at least two chapters consulting locals for bits of local legends and Baltic sea stories. It was interesting weaving of medieval lore and technology. But if it were not the first of the series I would have skipped a few pages.
Volume 2 I have in English on paper.

Re: What are you reading now? (Chapter 2)
Buying about 30 audiobooks. Most of it is stuff on mindfulness, Taoism, and the eleven-volume set of Will and Ariel Durant's The Story of Civilization. I threw in a few odd things, including a book on Buddhism by Thich Nhat Hanh and two books on the black experience (His Name Is George Floyd and The Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison). And I picked up several books of Eastern wisdom translated by Eknath Easwaren; I've enjoyed his translations.
I'll probably spend about half my time on the mindfulness and Taoism and the other half reading/listening to history. History seems my favorite genre for audiobooks.
Debating certain titles with ensemble casts. Notably Neil Gaiman's Sandman and Agathie Christie's And Then There Were None. I'm not sure whether the performance aspect is an enhancement or a hindrance.

I'm re-reading "Bugles and a Tiger" by John Masters, a British novelist who mainly wrote about India. It is the first of 3 autobiographical volumes. He was a British officer in a Gurkha regiment in the 30's, who went on to fight in WW2, serving in the Iraq theatre then in Burma, retiring after the war as a Colonel. He then lived the rest of his life in the US, writing. To me, a fine writer, and fascinating in his descriptions of both India, and the battles he was involved in.
Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

I was expecting just an average, run-of-the-mill book on mindfulness, but it's way better than I expected.

Re: What are you reading now? (Chapter 2)
I've got one credit and I'll have another at the beginning of August, but I haven't a clue what to get. I plan to cancel or go to the Plus Library only plan in September, so I need to use the credits by then. But I just spent $200 on thirty books, so I don't really need anymore that I can think of. Below are some possibles. I'm mostly into history and self help.
I think I'm leaning towards Tuchman's The Guns of August.

Maybe I'll buy some cheap credits. I'd really like Rise and Fall and Gulag Archipeligo.

And now I'm thinking of getting an annual membership. It's only $120 for my first year. Actually, 24 credits for $240 would be even better. Then at the end of the year I can switch to the $8/mos. plan and just live off of what I've collected.
