The Sock Monkey Treasury by Tony Millionaire. It's pretty awesome.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.

My brother caries a copy of Kipling's If in his wallet to refer to in times when character is the measure of a man.tattuchu wrote:The Sock Monkey Treasury by Tony Millionaire. It's pretty awesome.
I carry a Maakies comic strip I cut out of a newspaper that follows the intense drama of the ocean food chain up to the point Uncle Gabby winches an immense and fearsomely spectacular sea monster half out of the water on a cargo hook so he can cut a chunk out to make himself a fucking fish sandwich.

Sharing myself between Role playing game products, the novel Flamesong by linguist M A R Barker about his imaginary world of Tékumel, and a collection of Catherine L Moore's Northwest Smith stories, in French translation alas, as the original is not easily available.

Re: What are you reading now? (Chapter 2)
Finished and reviewed.
Mons Kallentoft
Summer Death
I read the reviews of the first book in the series. I can pretty much confirm that all murder victims in all Malin Fors mysteries will be speaking after death, in italics, in all the books. The murderer also speaks in furst person in little segments. If you like that sort of thing and sex related insane crimes, this is your book. The cops are a bit dim, but small time life comes alive. The writer can write fiction, just not mysteries very well yet. This is somewhat similar to the first Dragon Tattoo (Larsen) book, but with even more weaknesses.
I was only able to finish it due to it being the only book on my Kindle.
Now on to Dylan book by Donald Brown.

I started reading J.K. Rowling's The Casual Vacancy. I know this is a book for grown-ups, but holy shit I wasn't prepared for how off-color it'd be

My copy of GEB is well-festooned with Post-Its holding all my marginal notes I scribbled while trying to keep up with that book.JimC wrote:Many years ago, I read his book "Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid", which was fascinating and very challenging. Re: What are you reading now? (Chapter 2)
I've started reading a self-published book called Frustrated Witness!, in which the author claims it was Jeffrey Dahmer who killed Adam Walsh (famous case here in the States). My upstairs neighbor, who contributed to the book through interviews with the author about his experiences with Dahmer in the service, insisted I read it. My neighbor is obsessed with serial killers, particularly Dahmer. This isn't really within my realm of interest but I figured, what the fuck, I like to read and I ain't got nothin better to do. Figured I'd have some fun with it by reading it from a proofreader's perspective. The book has already been edited and proofread three times but I've already found one glaring error right at the start: on the top of every page is the book's title, misspelled as Furstrated Witness!
