 Yeah. Aren't we all thoroughly sick of those books yet?

I finished that Michael Crichton book. Thoroughly stupid. Don't read it. I then decided for some reason to read a Matthew Reilly book called "Contest". It was so idiotic I stopped after about 70 pages. Then read political/terrorism thriller called "The Secret Servant" by Daniel Silva. It was pretty good for the genre, but took a ridiculous turn at the end.
Trigger Warning!!!1! :
They risked the deaths of hundreds/thousands of Londoners on Christmas day to get one person back. And the Brits just handed over control of the whole operation to the Israelis. Sure thing.
And just finished a John Grisham book. Can't remember the name, they all sound the same. But I've never not liked a Grisham book. He's like Wilbur Smith for me. Never misses.

How do you rate the Max Hastings one, old chap? I've got the Tom Holland, may be next on the list

Currently reading In The Blink Of An Eye: The Cause Of The Most Dramatic Event In The History Of Life by Andrew Parker. I'm finding it a little annoying.

Catastrophe appears to be up to the standard of all Hasting's other books. He mixes very good high-level analysis with personal anecdotes from lowly soldiers and civilians.

Just knocked another John Grisham book off. This one had three words in its title ("The Street Lawyer") so that was a bit different. Good book enjoyable book, as are all of his. Might have a break from Grisham now and read something else next. Haven't quite decided yet.

I recently added A History of the Modern Middle East

Just gave a onceover to select passages from Kipling's Jungle Book... I remember the French version I read as a child and I want to slap the translator with a dead and smelly fish.

Reading Tai-Pan by James Clavell. Enjoying it so far, except for his annoying habit of changing from 3rd person to 1st person in the middle of a paragraph.
